Deeside Park.

One of Chester test centre roundabouts with 2 lanes, which can be approached on test from 3 directions.  You must plan your exit and be in the left lane, to avoid a last minute lane change.

With the exception of the exit bottom left of the picture with the herring bone markers.  This shows a dedicated lane and it’s the right lane to exit as you should not cross the solid white line and drive into the dedicated lane.

Traffic in this lane can be moving at speed and does not have to stop and give way at the roundabout.  It would therefore be hazardous to enter this lane.

3. Drome Corner 1

Route 1 Approaching from Garden City. Stick to the rules for roundabouts, keep left on the roundabout to go straight on. It takes quite a bit of steering when initially entering the roundabout, to get over to the left.

Route 2 Fairly straight forward, just keep left, to take the first exit to the left.

Route 3 Ensure you keep right on the approach to the roundabout. Main problem here is the tendency not to. Will be taking the third exit to the right, as indicated by the Sat Nav. See the video below for this Red Route 3.

4. Dunkirk Roundabout

Chester Test Centre Tips

Everyone on a driving test from Chester test centre will either turn right at the Dunkirk Roundabout, following directions for North Wales or make a U turn heading towards Ellesmere Port.

You can’t miss this one.  It’s the first roundabout on test and the sign is huge.

There is a two lane approach and it is essential that you keep right and take the right lane.

Attempting to turn right from the left lane will lead to a test fail.  The left lane is for the M56 only.
